I am passionate about cultural heritage and the unique role these special venues play in people's lives.
Over the past 15+ years, I have worked across museums, galleries, libraries and heritage sites and facilitated a range of successful projects and initiatives.
My specialist areas are education & learning, reminiscence, community engagement and event management.
Based in Macclesfield, Cheshire, I currently collaborate with a wide range of clients across the North West and would warmly welcome projects from further afield too.
I’m a committed, reliable and creative heritage professional with over 15 years’ experience delivering high-quality museum education and visitor engagement across a wide range of cultural and heritage sites. My career has been built on designing meaningful learning experiences, managing complex projects to an exceptional standard, and ensuring that the work I deliver has a lasting, positive impact.
Before becoming a freelancer, I managed the award-winning Learning and Visitor Services team at Tatton Park for over a decade, where I led a £1m National Lottery Heritage Fund activity plan, expanded the education service significantly, introduced a reminiscence programme for people living with dementia and strengthened accessibility for children with additional needs. My wider career includes roles across museums, archives and heritage organisations such as Beamish Museum, West Cheshire Museums, Whitby Abbey, National Railway Museum and Tyne & Wear Archives & Museums.
I hold an MA in Museum & Artefact Studies from Durham University and a BA in History from Newcastle University, supported by training in safeguarding, dementia awareness, autism, equality and diversity, project management, oral history and object handling.
